This is Part 16 of the A Luke 10 Moment series.
During the instruction phase of this passage, Jesus told His disciples to minister peace, heal the sick, and proclaim the kingdom of God. After that, they had to be anticipating some great things when they set out on their mission. Sure enough, they did see a demonstration of the power of God. Surely, many sick were healed, many hearts touched, and the kingdom of God was revealed.
Amazingly, when they returned to Jesus, all they could talk about was how the devil was subject to them through the name of Jesus. Where did Jesus say anything about dominion over the devil in this passage? It isn’t there. In spite of their high expectations, Jesus still went a step beyond their wildest dreams.
He always does you know?
Just when you are expecting a good service, God turns it into a great service. You think somebody in your family is going to be healed of cancer, and they also experience salvation. No matter how high our expectations, Jesus will always exceed them. Jesus will always do beyond what we thought.
So believe for huge things. Raise your expectations.
And still – Jesus will do something beyond your wildest dreams.
