No Namers

This is Part 4 of the A Luke 10 Moment series.

Luke 10:1-11

When you read the passage of scripture listed above, you are reading about the first time that Jesus sent out ministers into the harvest field of the world. What is great to note is that Jesus guaranteed them that if they would go, He would follow. In essence, you move, then God moves. You step out in audacious faith, and God shows up with audacious power. What a promise!

My quick reading of this passage revealed something pretty astonishing. There are no names mentioned. Among the seventy that were sent, no big names were given. No names were listed period. Jesus was doing something here.

He was wanting us to realize that it is the nameless people that bring a demonstration of His power. Those that are willing to volunteer their time and receive no credit. Those that only care about Jesus’ name being made famous, and not their own.

Can you be called to go and not need credit? Is it enough for you that people are seeing Jesus and not necessarily seeing you?

Nameless. But notable.
