I have days where my faith is radical. Bring it on God let’s do it.
Then I have those other days. The kind of days that leave me wondering if prayer and its cohorts even work. Up and down. The roller coaster that is the discipleship journey.
You want to know something? That’s a completely normal feeling to have.
Want to know something else? Angels even have their ups and downs (Genesis 28:12).
The bible calls the promise land, a land of hills and valleys (Deuteronomy 11:11). Just because you are experiencing ups and downs doesn’t mean you aren’t in a blessed place. Notice, according to the law of priority in this verse, hills should receive more focus than valleys. Also, there are three things to keep in mind when you find yourself down instead of up.
1. God cares for you. It’s easy to forget this simple fact, but God does care.
2. The eyes of the Lord are always upon you. Sometimes you need to remember … He sees me.
3. Seasons change, but God does not. Through changing times, a changeless God has you on His heart, and in His eyes.
Deuteronomy 11:12 – A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
